Closest Hotel — With a Caveat
Peppers Southern Cross Melbourne (679 Latrobe Street) sits approximately 300 metres from Marvel Stadium — the closest hotel in the precinct. It is also the lowest-rated hotel on both Google (3.8/5) and Booking.com (7.7/10) in Docklands by a clear margin. A 480-review six-year dataset shows service quality deteriorating sharply from late 2025: Q4 2025 averaged 2.44/5, November 2025 hit 1.71/5. Pool and gym are in a separate offsite building.
For a concert-night stay, the 300-metre walk advantage needs to be weighed against documented service inconsistency at check-in and room quality complaints. The Travelodge is only 400 metres further.
